Redditor recreates OpenAI's dots agent as a 3D Gaussian Splat using GPT-6 Astra

A UK user, unable to access dots yet, recreated one of OpenAI's cute dots agents as a real-time 3D Gaussian Splat using GPT-6 Astra with almost no hand-holding:
- Modeling: 15 minutes with Astra + Blender MCP, letting the model study reference images/videos.
- Training: One prompt to render the model 1000 times from various angles via Cycles, then train a Gaussian Splat in Lichtfeld Studio (free alternatives like Brush or Spirula Studio work too).
- Result: 6-7 hours of compute produced a .ply file, viewable in SuperSplat at 60+ FPS via PlayCanvas/WebGPU.
Why a splat instead of the Blender model? Fur is hard to render in real time, but Gaussian Splats let clients inspect detailed models interactively from any angle, and the .ply can be embedded in your own web app.
