Nvidia published a blog post on how its Blackwell GPUs power OpenAI's GPT-6 Astra Ultrafast, quoting OpenAI inference lead Philippe Tillet: Nvidia's tooling and documentation investment lets models 'program' Blackwell and Rubin GPUs, with Astra turning that into high-performance kernels across latency, throughput and cost — key for faster agent responses when coding, using tools and working through complex tasks. OpenAI compute CTO Uday Ruddarraju echoed the partnership. The poster tagged rival Cerebras, implying pressure in the ultrafast inference race.
