gwendall · x · 2026-10-02
Developer gwendall unveiled a custom engine for reconstructing classic games and re-rendering them in new ways. His latest demo overlays Streets of Rage 2 spatially onto the real streets of Tokyo.
The demo runs fully standalone on a Meta Quest 3 with a PS5 gamepad. He notes spatial rendering is just one use case, hinting the reconstruction pipeline has broader applications.
