binarybits tried Zoox's free robotaxi service from its San Francisco storefront, limited to 10 preset destinations. A 20-minute trip by car took 30 minutes: the vehicle is super cautious and avoids freeways. Verdict: 'fine' — the custom vehicle is interesting but the lack of a windshield feels claustrophobic, and he's unsure it beats Waymo's conventional vehicles.
