iroh-acp-go connects editors to remote AI agents peer-to-peer — no ports, no VPN
carsonfarmer · x · 2026-10-02
Carson Farmer open-sourced iroh-acp-go, letting you run an Agent Client Protocol (ACP) agent on one machine and use it from an editor on another — peer-to-peer over iroh's QUIC with end-to-end encryption, no open ports, no VPN, no middle server.
- Architecture: a local ACP client (e.g. Zed) talks over stdio to acp-client; a remote acp-server drives an agent (e.g. Claude Code) via stdio; the two connect over iroh QUIC directly or via relay.
- Size: two small binaries and a Go library built almost entirely from go-iroh and acp-go — the library is under 100 lines, each binary under 50.
- The repo also contains a .regenerate folder the author plans to write about.
