X Open-Sources Community Writer AI, Boosting Helpful Notes by 86%

X open-sourced Community Writer, an AI note writer designed to incorporate public input throughout the writing process. Together with the open Note Writing API it drove an 86% increase in notes found helpful across viewpoints. Code is Apache V2, with a technical report (arXiv:2609.40067). Head Keith Coleman says hobbyist and university AI writers plus Community Writer have roughly doubled notes shown, adding fast, cross-viewpoint-helpful context on top of human-written notes.
