AI writes more code than you can read: a senior engineer's 6-step review path
MaryamMiradi · x · 2026-10-02
The author argues AI coding agents now generate more code than one engineer can realistically review line by line, so review should be risk-based rather than volume-based. A six-step path from a senior AI engineer:
- Review by blast radius: treat the codebase as a tree; changes to shared state, auth flows, core APIs, or infrastructure deserve deeper review than isolated UI components.
- Gate before you integrate: put risky functionality behind feature flags, keep new isolated code separate from production integration points, and make rollback part of the architecture—changes that can be safely turned off let you move faster.
