Gemini CLI hits dead end for individuals as Google pushes migration to Antigravity

A developer testing Gemini 4 Argon found that installing Gemini CLI and logging in now returns an error: the client is no longer supported for Gemini Code Assist for individuals, forcing migration to Google's Antigravity suite.
Antigravity has become Google's "agent-first" development platform, with Antigravity 2.0 offering a command center for managing multiple parallel local agents, plus Antigravity CLI (terminal-first autonomous coding agents and shell access), an SDK for prototyping custom agents, and a full agentic IDE. Google is effectively folding the lightweight Gemini CLI ecosystem into the Antigravity platform.
