Cloudflare launches contest to build the next Git platform for AI agents
kleffew94 · x · 2026-10-02
Cloudflare is hosting a competition for developers to build "the next GitHub" for an era where AI agents write and maintain code.
- The foundation is Artifacts, a programmable, Git-speaking versioned filesystem launched earlier this year that scales to millions of repositories.
- Artifacts is now in open beta with new Workers bindings, data jurisdiction controls, and event subscriptions for repository changes.
- The contest asks builders to solve the layer above: how hundreds or thousands of agents coordinate on the same codebase, how changes get reviewed and merged, and what developer experience looks like.
