Perplexity open-sources multimodal decision model at $0.04 per million input tokens

Perplexity CEO Arav Srinivas announced the open-sourcing of the company's multimodal decision model, also available via the new Decisions API.
- The model, pplx-decider-v1-27b, is trained to output a probability distribution over a fixed set of answers instead of generating text
- It scores 85.71% across benchmarks, claimed to beat Jev at a fraction of the cost: $0.04 per million input tokens
- Available both via API and as open weights for self-hosting
