OpenAI dots first impressions: best-in-class voice, but the product feels rushed

A hands-on first impression of OpenAI's dots: it feels a bit rushed — impressive if it shipped in August, underwhelming now that expectations have risen. Pros: ChatGPT voice mode remains the best in class, and voice combined with tool/browser/computer use opens genuinely new ways of working. Cons: dot clutters the UI's mental model of model entry points; voice mode is still rough (random disconnects, hallucinations, decaying tone, opaque states); onboarding has a blank-canvas problem (Muse's FTUE was smoother); and the author is confused about OpenAI's product thesis for dot, wishing it were more opinionated on agent anthropomorphism and single vs. multi-agent design.
