eve ships Link extension letting AI agents move money with approval guardrails
jeff_weinstein · x · 2026-10-02
eve has launched a Link extension (eve add extension/link) that gives agents guarded access to Link wallet and purchase tools — Stripe's Jeff Weinstein marvels that you can now prompt a "powerful, safe money movement" agent into existence.
- Requires Node.js 24+; configured via a LINKACCESSTOKEN env var, no OAuth or refresh tokens
- The extension mounts link tools for wallet details, payment methods, spend requests, transactions, balances, and purchase reports, plus a checkout workflow skill
- Safety design: every spend request requires eve approval by default (separate from Link's purchase approval), and apps must verify request status before using credentials
- Card credentials may appear in tool outputs and stored session events; operators are warned to control transcript access and never put tokens in prompts or source control
