Google PM: AI made writing, prototyping and code cheap — but not judgment
jacalulu · x · 2026-10-02
Google PM Jaclyn Konzelmann published her 28-minute talk "What AI Didn't Make Cheap" from a YouTube Ads PM Summit, with slides and a worksheet. Her core thesis: generative AI made writing, prototyping and code cheap, but not good judgment — when agents can write specs, build prototypes, run analysis and draft launch plans, a PM's value shifts to judgment. Part one covers how the job changed (she no longer writes the 40-page PRDs she once prided herself on, replacing them with a one-page strategy doc, a deck and a prototype), plus the overbuilding trap she both wrote about and fell into. She also mentions Pomelli's new style transfer for Photoshoot.
