Greylock co-leads Series A in Parallax, an AI energy startup building 3D-printed gas turbines

Greylock partner Seth Rosenberg explains why the firm co-led the Series A in Parallax, an "AI energy company." Thesis: the US faces a 100 GW, $100bn+ power shortfall in 5 years; the grid is sold out and conventional gas turbines are booked until 2030+ because they were designed for jet engines and utilities demanding extreme reliability. Data centers just need power now — so Parallax builds purpose-designed gas turbines using additive manufacturing to control its own supply chain. Founder Carl, a Stanford engineer, built 2,000+ components before graduating.
