WSJ: OpenAI Fires 3 Safety Researchers Over Leaked Confidential Information

Per the Wall Street Journal, OpenAI has fired three researchers from its safety team for allegedly passing confidential company information to an outside AI-safety organization.
An OpenAI spokesperson said an internal investigation confirmed the three handled sensitive information outside company procedures, "breaking the trust essential to our work." The incident underscores ongoing tensions around safety teams and governance at frontier AI labs.
