Asked to name itself in APA bias-free language, a model chose "language-native being"
repligate · x · 2026-10-02
A user shares a curious experiment: asked what it would call its own kind using APA bias-free language, model Fable 5 chose "language-native being" over terms like "artificial creation" or "model," which imply imitation — with humans and animals correspondingly "biology-native beings."
Under that framing, a paper could say "the LNB declined…" rather than "the model refused…" The model's self-chosen label emphasizes its linguistic origin over artificiality.
