Meowbert: an open-source self-hosted agent platform that sandboxes every task in Docker
XInTheDark · reddit · 2026-10-01
A developer has open-sourced Meowbert, a self-hosted agent platform built over 7-8 months for long-running projects and autonomous tasks.
- Each task runs in its own Docker container with shell, browser, Python, Node, and Office/PDF tooling
- Files and memory persist per project; scheduled tasks can push results to Telegram, Discord, or email
- Author's own use case: scheduled health/security checks via logs and system info with alerts
- Custom skills drop into a skills/ folder
- Works with any OpenAI Responses API-compatible server (tested with Codex models and Qwen 9B via Ollama on a small VPS); chat/completions-only APIs not yet supported; sandbox is x86-64 only
AGPL licensed, code on GitHub.
