FAR: a framework that learns episodic recall for world models, beating hand-designed memory

Researchers introduce FAR (Future-Aware Recall), a principled framework that learns episodic recall for world models. Key claims: world models need the right memory, not just more memory; learned recall beats hand-designed recall even with identical cues; the framework automatically learns which recall cues to trust per query among all available cues; and it recalls the correct state even as the environment shifts.
