The Verge AI · rss · 2026-10-01
At OpenAI's DevDay 2026, CEO Sam Altman announced Dots, a personal assistant agent powered by GPT-6 Astra, 'inspired by the cool agents that we all watched in movies growing up.' Dots takes aim at Meta's Muse agent platform, which has seen early runaway success: it adopts similarly cute, personalizable blob characters and can even build metaverse-esque virtual worlds. But The Verge notes Dots strikingly falls short in one key area—competing with Meta's free offering.
