LangChain launches LangSmith Fine-Tuning: turn agent traces into fine-tuned models via smithtune CLI
LangChain · x · 2026-10-01
LangChain announced LangSmith Fine-Tuning with the smithtune CLI, letting teams convert agent trajectories stored in LangSmith into fine-tuned custom models without building a training pipeline by hand.
- Supports SFT on examples of good agent behavior
- One CLI handles dataset creation, training via partnerships with Fireworks and Baseten, plus evaluation results uploaded back to LangSmith
- Teams can have their coding agent drive the whole process end to end via the smithtune skill
