I poked OpenAI's Dots all day: it has its own cloud computer and runs three agents in parallel

A Reddit user spent a day probing OpenAI's Dots and mapped out an execution model that launch materials gloss over:
- Each Dot gets its own persistent cloud computer: a document-review job spanning hundreds of PDFs ran there for days, absorbing side questions without losing context.
- Work/Codex delegated tasks are a separate execution pool: a second legal-research task couldn't launch even after the Dot's job finished — the Dot's computer isn't shared with delegated task targets.
- Connected machines become new targets: via the ChatGPT desktop app, a spare Linux box could receive and run tasks remotely from the Dot.
- True parallelism: Dot cloud computer ran task A while the Linux machine ran task B simultaneously.
- Computer-free background agents: Dots can spin up a native research agent with read-only web tools using no computer at all — three concurrent executions at once.
- In-job context switching: mid-review interruptions get resolved (checking meeting minutes etc.) without spawning a new worker.
