Cloudflare launched Workers KV Instant, a new mode for Workers KV powered by its internal key-value store Quicksilver — the system handling a lookup on nearly every Cloudflare request since 2020, long requested by customers. Key facts: same API as Workers KV; p99 reads over 100x faster than classic mode (under 2ms at p99, microseconds at p95); writes pushed to the edge 20x faster with 99% replicating in 250ms; updates are instantly available with no TTL wait. Best suited for infrequently updated, hot-path configuration data.
