A 40-gram autonomous drone hunts mosquitoes by acoustic signature and sonar

Tornyol is building a tiny 40g autonomous drone for public health: it identifies mosquitoes by acoustic signature, localizes them with ultrasonic sonar, and intercepts them mid-flight.
The point isn't the spectacle of the chase but precision. Conventional mosquito control sprays entire rooms and areas because targeting a single insect is impractical, exposing everything nearby. Tornyol inverts that logic.
The system is essentially a physical SPAR loop — sense the target, plan an interception, act in the real world, and keep updating from environmental feedback. It's a case for agentic AI: once sensing and autonomous action get cheap enough, broad interventions can be replaced with surgical ones.
