A Google DeepMind + Oxford + Chicago University paper argues no single policy works in every AI-displacement scenario: retraining only helps if AI keeps creating new jobs. The authors propose expanding unemployment benefits and the low-wage tax credit now, converting the credit into a guaranteed income floor if joblessness persists, and giving citizens stakes in a public investment fund if labor's share keeps falling.
