OpenAI cuts $200 Pro plan usage in half to 10x Plus while launching $500 tier

Per an email reported by a Reddit user, OpenAI will halve the included usage of its $200/month Pro plan starting October 30: 20x Plus drops to 10x, and weekly GPT-6 Pro messages fall from 200 to 100, with no price change.
Simultaneously, OpenAI is launching a new $500/month Pro 500 plan with 25x usage and Ultrafast generation. Existing subscribers get 62,500 temporary usage credits as compensation, but those expire December 31, leaving the long-term value cut intact.
The poster argues this is a massive value reduction for existing Pro customers and asks others whether they're reconsidering their subscription.
