ChatGPT Sites Now Host MCP Servers: One Prompt Builds, Deploys and Installs Plugins
thsottiaux · x · 2026-10-01
OpenAI users can now build and deploy MCP servers directly through ChatGPT, hosted on ChatGPT Sites with fine-grained access control—share privately or publish to the world.
A quoted demo shows the full flow: a single prompt like "create a todo list I can use in ChatGPT" automatically creates an MCP server with extensions, deploys it to Sites, turns it into a plugin, and installs it across web, mobile and desktop.
The author calls ChatGPT "malleable software anyone can customize to their needs."
