H100 rental prices up 40% since October, six-year-old A100s still fetching up to $19,000

Pushing back on the "GPUs are rotting two-year assets" bear narrative: per SemiAnalysis, one-year H100 contracts rose nearly 40% from October to March, on-demand pricing holds around $3.40/hour, and six-year-old A100s still trade for roughly $8,000–$19,000. The bear case assumes hardware becomes economically obsolete far faster than depreciation schedules; if older chips keep earning for years, the AI buildout looks much less fragile. Hardware ages; demand for useful intelligence doesn't.
