Freckle launches $199 AI phone for kids with no browser or social media

Startup Freckle unveiled an AI phone for 7-13 year-olds with no browser, app store, social media or YouTube. It features a Discovery Camera identifying birds and plants, outdoor Quests, walkie-talkie pairing, kid-friendly Why Chat Q&A, walk/bike-optimized maps, and parent-controlled Tap to Pay. Backed by Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian and Seven Seven Six, it costs $199 plus $25/month cellular, shipping in December.
