Solo-built home redesign app chains Opus 5.5, Gemini, SAM 3.1 and Ideogram for $1.50 per house

VentureTwins built an interior design app to test new models: it ingests a Zillow listing, pulls photos of every room, and lets users swap out finishes with live previews.

The pipeline is a textbook solo-dev multi-model stack: interface generated by Opus 5.5, photo classification via Gemini 2.5 Flash, segmentation with SAM 3.1, and edits with Ideogram 4.5 — all wired together through a single fal API key. Costs are strikingly low: a full house redesign runs about $1.50, with each edit costing $0.06. The author notes this would previously have taken an entire engineering team.
