AI Memory Could Be the Industry's Biggest Moat, and Portability Is the Real Fight

AI memory may become one of the industry's biggest moats. The longer an assistant accumulates your projects, habits and preferences, the harder it is to leave—and the underlying model may eventually become interchangeable while years of context about how you work will not. The author argues portability is the real fight ahead: some major assistants already let users import context from other AI services. If your context can move with you, memory is just a feature; if it can't, memory becomes lock-in.
