Rox benchmarks: Jev reranking beats GPT-5 Mini — 20x faster, 10x cheaper, 12% more accurate
hardimanjames · x · 2026-10-01
Sales AI startup Rox benchmarked two ways of retrieving context (transcripts, emails, CRM notes, news, docs) for its revenue agents: LLM-based reranking with GPT-5 Mini versus Jev classification. Jev won on every axis — 20x faster, 10x cheaper, and 12% more accurate. Rox argues revenue agents need thousands of context points to understand accounts and relationships, and Jev lets it serve that context at frontier-level performance. The takeaway: specialized classifier models can substantially replace general-purpose LLMs for narrow reranking tasks.
