Wall Street's AI forecasts are internally inconsistent: $4.2T market gap looms
DavidLinthicum · x · 2026-10-01
Enterprise architect David Linthicum argues the AI build-out math doesn't hold: Apollo's Torsten Sløk found tech analysts expect sector operating cash flow to more than double to $2.4T by 2028, while analysts covering the actual AI-paying sectors forecast far modest growth — both can't be right. Bain adds that sustaining AI capex requires a $6T annual market vs. a realistic $1.2–1.8T, a $4.2T gap. This is where the bubble pops, he says.
