Robotics researcher Animesh Garg is joining microagi as Chief Research Officer via an acqui-hire of his robotics research company, bringing his team along and co-leading the 100-person company as part of the Macrovector leadership team.
His credentials: 15+ years in robotics, 18,000+ citations, PhD at UC Berkeley, postdoc at Stanford, professor at University of Toronto and the Vector Institute (CIFAR AI Chair), six years as Senior Staff Research Scientist at NVIDIA Research, CSO at humanoid company Apptronik (2024-2025), and he leads the PAIR group at Georgia Tech. He was among the researchers behind ORBIT, the robot simulation training software.
