ML author Andriy Burkov argues that many frontier models are now virtually indistinguishable in blind tests, half of them open-weight and dirt cheap, leaving no market for most of them. He calls investors still pouring billions into Anthropic and other closed-weight builders "incredibly greedy, to the point of ignoring reality" — a pointed take on frontier model commoditization.
