Google to retire Gems in November, auto-migrating them into Gemini Skills

Google announced that Skills will replace Gems as the way to tailor instructions in Gemini.
- Personal accounts: November 2025; Workspace business/enterprise/nonprofit: March 2027; Workspace education: June 2027.
- Gems will be automatically migrated into Skills when they go away, with a help-center guide for manual transitions.
- More functionality is coming to Skills in the following weeks.
