Google Threat Intelligence Group reports AI is measurably changing the vulnerability landscape: monthly disclosures doubled from 5,045 in January 2026 to 10,740 by August; exploited vulnerabilities nearly doubled from 10.5 to 18 per month; zero-day exploitation rose from 8 to 11 per month. AI-assisted discovery skews toward moderate-risk and RCE-enabling bugs. GTIG recommends shifting to threat-intelligence-driven triage with automated agentic remediation.
