Citadel founder and CEO Ken Griffin is donating an unprecedented $3B to Carnegie Mellon University—the largest single donation in US education history. The money funds a new Miami campus (construction starting 2027, housing 3,500+ students, 300 faculty, 600+ staff) and investments in Pittsburgh, including faculty recruitment and financial aid. $1B goes to the computer science school, renamed the Kenneth C. Griffin School of Computer Science.
