Aleph Surgery raised a $7.5M pre-seed led by a16z, with BoxGroup, Reveille VC, Constellation and others participating.
The founders argue most Physical AI investment has targeted industries with abundant, cheap labor, while the biggest opportunity lies at the opposite end: surgery is among the most valuable yet scarcest, most expensive forms of labor due to long training pipelines and concentrated expertise.
The company is building what it calls the first surgeon that scales — a system that acquires, refines and transfers surgical skills across millions of procedures. Its v1 is already learning surgical tasks autonomously from demonstrations and improving from its own experience.
