AG-UI Protocol Hits 1.0: 16K Stars, Adopted by Google, Microsoft, AWS

The open protocol AG-UI (16K GitHub stars) has hit 1.0. Positioned as the standard layer between AI agents and user-facing apps, it's adopted by Google, Microsoft, AWS, Oracle and more.
Version 1.0 means a stable, frozen spec backed by a JSON Schema: the TypeScript, Python and .NET SDKs are all generated from it, fully backwards compatible — what you build today keeps working.
Connect an agent to AG-UI once and reach any frontend (web, mobile, terminal), chat apps (Slack, Teams), generative UI (A2UI, MCP Apps), plus subagents, metadata, shared state, interrupts, and full agent-user interaction data.
AG-UI started internally at CopilotKit and is now a community-driven open standard; CopilotKit itself takes agents to production with the full UI layer, threads and product insights.
