SEO practitioner Chris Nectiv reports that Google is now showing AI Overviews for a large volume of branded queries—Reddit, Salesforce, Amazon, Adobe and more. 93% of the brands he tested had AI Overviews appearing.
Lily Ray quipped it's a "great way to inflate AI Overviews MAUs," implying branded search traffic is being pushed into AI summaries. For brands and the SEO industry this means the natural search entry point for brand terms is being rewritten by AI answers, warranting updated monitoring and optimization strategies.
