ChapterPal adds exercise AI tutor that coaches without solving problems for you

Burkov, author of Grokking Algorithms, introduces a new exercise-specific AI tutor on ChapterPal:
- It never hands out full solutions. Learners attempt the exercise first, then submit their full or partial solution for validation, correction, or hints.
- The first hint is grounded in the book itself, pointing to the relevant passage so learners can derive the idea; only if still stuck does it give the next step of their partial solution.
- Solutions can be typed in chat or submitted as handwriting.
A thoughtful design pattern for AI education products: position the model as a feedback and hint engine, not an answer machine, to preserve learning outcomes.
