Running a 35B LLM Killed a DDR4 Stick in 90 Minutes, User Claims

Per wccftech, a Redditor ran a 20B model fine on an RTX 5070 Ti (16GB GDDR7) but found it limiting for complex database work, switching to Ornith-1.5-35B-A3B with 128GB of DDR4 ECC (8GB sticks) for memory offload. 90 minutes in, the system crashed with one stick dead — the user says thermals weren't the cause. A second stick started showing errors after 8-9 more days. He still prefers the model's quality and token performance.
