OpenAI retires gpt-4-0613, gpt-4-turbo, gpt-4o-2024-05-13, o1, o3-mini, o4-mini and five more snapshots on 2026-10-23 — and Claude Opus 4.7+ also rejects temperature/topp/topk, so swapping model strings isn't always enough. The open-source modelshift CLI scans repos for model IDs, rewrites them with fix, and replay runs your own prompts on old vs new models to compare JSON validity, refusals, tool calls, length and latency. Scanning four popular open-source repos surfaced 131 distinct retiring IDs across 296 files. Node 20+, MIT, runnable via npx.
