Citadel's Ken Griffin Gives CMU a Record $3B, Launching CMU Miami Campus by 2028

Citadel founder and CEO Ken Griffin has donated $3 billion to Carnegie Mellon University — the largest individual gift in higher education history. $2 billion will fund CMU Miami, a new 35-acre campus in Miami's Wynwood neighborhood organized around societal challenges and slated to enroll students in 2028, while $1 billion goes to the Pittsburgh campus. The gift also names CMU's School of Computer Science, building on the university's strengths in advanced computing, robotics, and machine learning.
