Image Studio is a free, local, open-source (AGPL) web app for Qwen-Image 2.1 on Apple Silicon, running the uncensored model via ComfyUI + GGUF with no added content filter. Weights stay under the non-commercial Qwen Research License.
Features:
- 1K/2K text-to-image with live preview
- Edit/combine up to 10 of your own images, referenced as image 1, image 2 in the prompt
- Transparent PNGs and background removal with the same model
- Paint-over inpainting and Qwen prompt enhancers
- Node canvas to chain steps (e.g. hang a sticker, then turn the scene to evening) in one run
- Background queue; every PNG keeps its prompt and settings
Details: needs 64GB RAM (38GB used while generating), 85-100s per 1K image on an M5 Max; VAE runs on CPU (MPS output goes grey/embossed), int8 encoders converted to bf16 once. Install via ./studio setup or paste the README into Claude Code/Codex/Gemini CLI/Cursor.
