Autonomous shipping startup Eight Knot raises ¥450M Series A to commercialize AI Captain

Osaka-based autonomous navigation startup Eight Knot closed the first round of its Series A, raising ¥450 million from investors including Itochu Technology Ventures and Nissay Capital.
The company will accelerate commercialization and overseas expansion of its "AI CAPTAIN" system, which combines AI with sensors and robotics for autonomous ship navigation. The news was covered by Japan Maritime Daily.
