Google Tests Replacing 'Show more' With a 'Loading...' Button for AI Overviews on Mobile
gaganghotra_ · x · 2026-09-30
User gaganghotra spotted a new AI Overviews interaction in Google's mobile search results: tapping shows a Loading state that expands the full AI answer inline. While scrolling through the answer, the chat box sticks to the bottom, and once past it, users can simply keep scrolling to the regular results.
He argues this beats the current 'Show more' flow, which pushes users into AI Mode and forces them to go back to see normal results. The test was first spotted by Sachin Patel and Khushal Bherwani and reported by Barry Schwartz.
