Claude Max 20x weekly limit covers fewer than four 5-hour sessions, user math shows
zgperak · reddit · 2026-09-30
A Reddit user running a mostly-autonomous agent that delegates to sub-agents found the Claude Max 20x weekly limit far tighter than expected. After using one free reset, the agent hit the 5-hour limit just once, yet by the next day the user was already at 60% of the second 5-hour window and 43% of the weekly cap — meaning the weekly limit covers fewer than four 5-hour sessions (corrected in an edit).
For long-running autonomous agent workflows, Max 20x weekly quota feels much tighter than advertised.
