SEO consultant Aleyda Solis shared early findings from an ongoing study tracking citations in ChatGPT, AI Mode and Gemini across 10 verticals in the UK, Spain and Brazil, with the US as control. Local ccTLDs account for 41% of citations in Brazil, 38% in the UK and 24% in Spain—excluding localized content on .com/.org. No platform is consistently most local: ChatGPT leads in the UK (41% vs 26% for both Google platforms), while Gemini leads in Brazil at 52%. Her takeaway: the claim that AI answers mostly cite English content so localization is unnecessary doesn't hold up—you need to check what you're actually measuring.
