A developer who has used GPT-5.6 Sol with Unity since launch reports a steady, noticeable performance decline over 3-4 weeks: the model now gets stuck in infinite loops on problems it previously solved, performing barely better than the much cheaper Grok.
The author accuses OpenAI of silently degrading models it deems "too expensive" to boost margins once users are locked in, without any disclosure.
